Happy Anniversary

We celebrated our 2nd Anniversary yesterday, which is known traditionally as the "cotton year" to symbolize a couple's life being intertwined and woven together. Early on I wanted to get my husband a cotton bathrobe, something fancy but practical. I quickly scrapped that idea when I realized that he would never wear the thing, so I had to rethink a little bit. When thinking about these gifts I've realized I can think of the coolest gift in my mind, but if it's not practical or he would never use it, it's not a good idea. I went a little smaller scale and decided on hand towels, which we needed new ones anyways. I happened to get the one remaining "w" monogrammed towel in Kohl's, and then found some Irish hand towels on clearance (it was right after St. Patrick's Day) and one of them had a corgi on it, which I knew he would love. One year ago we celebrated our first anniversary. I'm getting a slow jump on this blog, but better late than never, and it's only one year old this way. I follow the traditional gifts for anniversary years, so last year was the paper year, meant to signify a clean slate, a new beginning, and the ability to write our own story. I also liked that it is one of the cheaper years to buy for. We are still paying for parts of the wedding two years later. This was a hard one to buy for, mainly because I couldn't think of anything at first, and thought about scrapping this idea altogether or going for the modern ideas, which seem a little more pricey.
